He is just a decent human being. Any decent person would have stepped in if they saw someone being beaten and mugged like that man had been. Benedict is a good person and he did what any other good person would do. - Of course it helps that he knows a thing or two about defending himself and such. Being an actor means he has many skills an ordinary person might not have, but I stand by what I said.
I am not saying he isn't a hero, I'm just saying that what he did was the right thing to do. Many should inspire to do the same.
